The Grieg Art Collection

Grieg Foundation is the owner of Grieg Art Collection who is the largest private art collection in Western Norway and has its own gallery at Oseana. With over 1,000 artworks, the collection covers the breadth of Norwegian art, featuring masterpieces from all periods. With prominent names like Krogh, Gude, Balke, Astrup, and Weidemann, the Grieg Art Collection is an attractive collection for both artist and art enthusiasts.

The collection has long focused on art from Western Norway, but in recent years it has also incorporated international artists such as Candida Höfer, Marina Abramović, and Kiki Smith. With the Grieg Foundation's renewed commitment to visual arts, the collection will continue to evolve in the coming years, including both contemporary art and older masterpieces.

The Grieg Foundation is proud of this wonderful collection of artworks that Per Grieg Sr. started. His personal interest in art was intense and genuine. He believed that art, culture, and music are fundamental in shaping our identity as people, and our lives.
