Funkisdagen is a magnificent event where disabled people take in the public cityscape and invite to a full day filled with concerts, stands, politician squares, obstacle courses for wheelchairs, wheelchair basketball and much more.

The Norwegian association for disabled (NHF Sørvest) organizes this event. Disabled people are often invisible in public spaces. They are prevented from participating in many areas of society and often must make do with spectator seats. On Funkisdagen, diabled people take the driver's seat and create a diverse arena where they use many different tools to show that disabled people have a rightful place in society and the cityscape, and want to participate and can contribute.

This is how Funkisdagen builds pride in your own, at the same time as audience's attitudes change and offer politicians important knowledge. The goal of Funkisdagen is for most people who attend the event to be given a positive impression, and an increased understanding of how people can be different, but still equal.

Funkisdagen has a clear profile, where sports, leisure activities and musical entertainment are the focus mixed with great musicians playing all day! During the day, a wheelchair labyrinth is built, and races are arranged with manual wheelchairs. The program is constantly evolving, and we are always looking for exciting ideas. The goal is to strengthen awareness and create greater openness and tolerance in the meeting with people with disabilities. Funkisdagen should be positively charged, with good experiences for young and old.
