The support of 1.5 million Norwegian Kroner to the joint emergency appeal from SOS Children's Villages in Palestine and Israel, has great significance for children and families affected by the war. On both sides, there are initiatives for children who have lost their parents, preventive measures to prevent families from breaking down, and help in dealing with extreme traumas. In Gaza, there is also an overwhelming need for food, clean drinking water, psychosocial support, and education. SOS Children's Villages in Palestine is collaborating with Unicef to care for children, initially from 0-10 years, who have lost both parents.

Leader of SOS Children's Villages in Palestine, Ghada Hirzallah, says that external support is invaluable.

The support from you means more than you can imagine. It's an expression of solidarity and understanding that binds us together as humans, despite our lives being different. Thank you for seeing us, and for so clearly showing that we humans together can contribute to a stronger and more compassionate world.
