What does it mean to see and to be seen?

The eye existed before man. In the beginning there was light, there was darkness, and the eye was only a spot on simple organisms. Still an opening. An opening to everything that would later be found.

The art of seeing is a strong visual, sensory performance. It's about eyes, evolution and visions. Presence, absence and eye contact. About how we can only through the gaze both live and love, judge, kill and forgive. What is it to be seen?

The performance is played in a tent where the audience sits in a circle around the stage, wearing vests that lets sound be felt on the body. Video projection makes the room come alive, and gives associations to the inside of an eye. The target group for this unique world premiere is the deaf, hard of hearing and hearing, where the sound is also experienced through vibrations. With dancer Anne-Line L. Kirste and actress Per-Vidar Anfinnsen on stage, director Thea Elisabeth Skallevold and set designer Silje Sandodden Kise create a performance with a stage language at the intersection of Norwegian spoken and sign language, choreography, projection, sound and vibrations.

The performance is suitable for everyone, regardless of hearing level. Recommended age group: adults and adolescents.
