«Turboklubb» is an outdoor life club for children and their parents. Together, we play, experience, wonder, explore and learn about nature and the joy of outdoor activities. The goal is that new generations learn to appreciate and take active part in the joys of outdoor life all year round. All activities are run by volunteers and take place locally and create closer and stronger bonds in local communites . In addition to excursions, hikes, bonfires, skiing and sledding, there are weekend excursions to cabins, or with tents or hammocks.

Turboklubb is low threshold, free of charge and easy for all families to joins. Many get the chance to discover the mountains and the outdoors for the first time. Turboklubb has become very popular though word of mouth. New families join every week. With increasing number of participants we keep expanding to new areas. We value the local social bonds, and the opportunity to offer local sustainable activities for all. Grieg Foundation funds the Turboklubbs in Bergen which are run by the Norwegian Trekking Association. Today, there are 12, and new ones are planned.
