This year is Mina Hekland's (15) first time at bandcamp. Mina is blind, but she doesn't let this stop her love for music.
The teenager says that she signed up for the band camp because she loves music and wanted to get to know more people in the community.
- Bandcamp has certainly facilitated well for me, and it's an incredibly inclusive environment here, says Mina.
Mina is a vocalist, but this week she got to try several new instruments.
- Learning to play the drums was particularly fun, she says with a smile.
Mina actually ended up as the drummer in her band, which she mastered very well.
All in all, Mina says that the band camp went beyond all expectations, and that the week has been very educational and exciting!
- I'll definitely come back next year, she says eagerly!
Thanks to the Grieg Foundation for the support.
Benjamin Martin Aase and Oliver Danielsen
Benjamin Martin Aase (16) and Oliver Danielsen (15) travel all the way from Os to participate every day of the bandcamp!
- With public transportation it takes one and a half hours, but it's absolutely worth it, says Benjamin with a smile.
This is the boys second year at bandcamp, and they are very happy with the offer!
- In Os, the teenagers have to take the initiative to get to play music, unfortunately nothing like this is organized, says Benjamin.
The boys say that the week has been very educational, but also social and fun.
- Bandcamp is a great opportunity to get to know new people in the music community, concludes Oliver.
