About the organization
Fifty-71 is an innovative youth organization working to develop leisure activities for young people in the fields of art, music, and culture. We aim to evolve on the youths’ terms, by developing our offer in close dialogue with them and by recruiting through more unconventional channels to break down barriers for registration. All our activities are completely free, as we see inclusion as one of our key social missions. No one should be left out due to financial reasons. The purpose of all activities under Fifty-71 is to develop the self-esteem, creativity, and unity of the youth. By offering free courses, workshops, and events for the age group of 12 to 20 years - we provide youth with meaningful experiences, a place to be, and a community to belong to.
A unique aspect of Fifty-71 is our desire to be an organization where youth can move around to increase their competence, which is possible because we offer entirely free activities. We have already received recognition for our work, including winning the "People's Prize" in 2023, organized by Fana Sparebank and Bergen Chamber of Commerce.
About the project
BPM is intended to be a recreational offering for youth, targeting individuals aged 12 to 20. Femti-71 possesses specialized knowledge in music and art and will develop activities for youth within these main areas. In the initial phase, courses are planned for DJing, production, songwriting, and rap, as well as clothing redesign. The courses will be open to all genders. The first course session started on January 10, 2024, and we have activities scheduled throughout the year. In May and December we plan to host a larger concluding event featuring an open stage, and we will serve food and soda. This event will primarily be for course participants, but we encourage all participants to bring friends. This way, we can create an environment where youth can connect with peers, get inspired, and showcase what they have learned or their talents in a safe and inspiring setting. We also want to include “open office” where we can guide young musicians in how to release their own music, and hold lectures and workshops on relevant topics within the field of music, art and culture.
