About the project
“Empowerment Hub” is an inclusive resource center dedicated to providing work training for youth. Our project focuses on developing the youth's individual strengths. For some, this means securing their first job alongside school, while for others, it provides a safe and supportive environment when school attendance becomes challenging. Our primary aim is to equip youth with the tools and confidence and skills to re-engage with education or transition into further studies or employment.
As part of the initiatives at this Empowerment Hub, we emphasize the importance of contributing positively to the local community and enhancing the living conditions of younger children in the neighborhood. Through various programs at the Neighborhood Houses in our district, our youth lead activities designed to enhance the quality of life for younger children. With years of experience in this approach, we have observed how it creates a meaningful sense of belonging and a valuable social network outside the school setting.
Our target group consists of three groups:
Young people who are in school and seeking a pathway into the workforce. We will provide relevant work opportunities within our organization – our Neighborhood Houses amongst others, or in collaboration with other partners.
Young people who are in school but have high absenteeism and are at risk of dropping out.
Young people who already have a history of prolonged school absence.
Our goal is to prevent youth marginalization and exclusion by providing an alternative arena – an Empowerment Hub.
About the organisation
Kirkens Bymisjon is an open and inclusive non-profit organization with a total of 2,400 employees and 4,000 volunteers across 50 cities and towns. Since 1855, the organization has worked to ensure that all people are treated with respect and are met with justice and care, regardless of their life situation, beliefs, or cultural background. Addressing social exclusion among children, youth, and young adults is a key focus area in our work.
By creating inclusive communities across cultures, generations, and social strata, we facilitate opportunities for individuals to develop their resources and expand their networks.
Through our work, we strive to realize our vision that all people should experience respect, justice, and care, regardless of their life situation, beliefs, or cultural background.
We believe that no one is defined solely by what you see. There should be room for everyone, and we approach each individual with this mindset in everything we do. Our aim is to empower our participants, users, patients, and guests to strengthen their own resources, dreams, and hopes.
