Haukås Rockeakademi
Who: Haukås Rockeakademi
What: The project will give young people interested in music an arena to be able to develop their musical qualities together with like-minded people.
Where: Bergen
Project period: 2024
About the project:
The project will give young people interested in music an arena to be able to develop their musical qualities together with like-minded people. The young people will have a safe and pleasant place to be during the summer holidays. We plan for 20 places per week, and we aim to complete 2 weeks. We want to do this at no cost to participants. There is a limited number of such offers that are available to everyone. In order to carry out as we wish with full capacity, we depend on support to finance both necessary expenses and activities for the young people. The participants will experience: instrument carousel, workshops, play in a band with guidance from profiled artists, receive theory lessons, take band photos, record music and hold a closing concert.
About the organisation:
Haukås Rockeakademi is an organization that promotes children and young people's understanding and practice of singing and music. We are based in Haukås in Åsane Nord, and have completely new premises consisting of 5 rehearsal rooms, a concert hall and a kitchen. Construction of the rehearsal rooms was financed by support from, among others, the Music Equipment Association, the Gjensidigestiftelsen, Sparebanken Vest and Bergen Municipality. The organization was started in 2010 by FAU at Haukås school, but today runs on a voluntary basis.
