Hjelp Moldova’s work is volunteer based, and the services and low vision aids are free for the visual impaired in Moldova. The aim is to rehabilitate and integrate all low vision patients, giving them possibilities to take part in school, work and social activities.
It is also important to share knowledge and train the doctors about modern technology and methods treating the visual impaired.
The organization has been active in Moldova for 25 years. Throughout the years, Hjelp Moldova has achieved very good results. In 2009, we established a National Center for low vision in the capital, Chisinau. We also work decentralized throughout the country. Over 10 000 patients have been helped.
In 2017 we started a new 4-year study in optometry at the Medical university in Chisinau.
For many years, Grieg Foundation has been a very important partner to achieve our goals.
