“Neseviserne - Generasjoner Møtes” - The Project.

Who: Ness Music Production

What:
A concert that conveys folk/children songs in a new and refreshing way.

Where: Bergen

Project period:
2024

“Neseviserne - generasjoner møtes” is a concert that conveys folk/children songs in a new and refreshing way. The audience is encouraged to participate with both voice and with movement. The songs are based on a well-known Norwegian music heritage.

Kindergartens are invited to a concert at a nearby nursing home. The concert has a duration of 35 minutes. It consists of songs both/all age groups can relate to and participate in. After the concert, social interaction will be initiated. And both young and old can share their stories. All generations will know the songs, to make it a shared experience.

The purpose of this project is to provide a mutual cultural experience, and a place for elders to meet preschool children, and vice versa, where music defines the framework. Through such “generasjonsmøter” the participants will find an opportunity to exchange knowledge, perspectives and experience, to form a foundation for mutual respect and understanding. Connecting on a personal level through an universal tool such as music, can help define a common ground. Both elders in need of care and children in kindergarten have different access to common cultural offers and opportunities. By offering culture at their location, it will contribute to equalizing social differences. Such encounters across generations are important and valuable. Neseviserne is proud to collaborate with Grieg Foundation on this project, as they share common values and social goals.
