About the organization:
Idrett Bergen Sør (IBS) is a non-profit public health organization that was established in 2012 by the sports clubs Gneist, Kalandseid, Smørås, Bjarg, and Fana. IBS operates independently of the sports clubs, with separate administration and finances. Funding comes from some paid activities - but we largely depend on support from the public sector, foundations, organizations, and others. The organization works to develop activity that is focused on physical activity, mastery, and belonging for people who fall outside ordinary sports. IBS's vision is "together to improve public health," which is reflected in broad cooperation between the private, public, and voluntary sectors. Fana IL's vision is "sports for all". Fana IL aims to be a leading sports club both in terms of sports and social aspects. They should be a driving force in the development of the sports offerings in Fana. Core values are joy, fellowship, safety, and decisiveness.
About the project:
Team Sterk is a weekly strength training offer for young people who have various needs for facilitation. The project emphasizes inclusion of the young people in their local environment, as well as being a contributor to meaningful experiences in physical activity. In that way, their self- perception and confidence in coping is strengthened, which can have transfer value to other arenas in everyday life.
