No one should face cancer alone.

“Vardesenteret” is a care centre at Haukeland University Hospital that provide free cancer support and information for everyone affected by cancer. Support specialists, psychologist and volunteers help all cancer-patients and their families. Vardesenteret is a place that can provide a much needed break from it all. It is a place where people can meet, be and share experiences with others in similar situations.

The current “Vardesenter” is too small. Thus, Helse Bergen (Bergen Health) and the Norwegian Cancer Association have recently agreed to establish a new Vardesenter in a beautiful old wooden villa in Bergen, in Ibsensgate 118, right next to the Patients´ Hotel at Haukeland University Hospital. The Norwegian Cancer Association is currently  fundraising the money needed to rebuild and create the new Vardesenter in a modern and fullfilling way. Grieg Foundation is proud to contribute to a new Vardesenter.

When it is finished, the Vardesenter will welcome many more people, activities, services and meetings. The center will offer support to cancer-patients with nutrition, psychological and juridical help, and also physical activities/training.

The main vision for “Vardesenteret” is that no one should face cancer alone.
