The Norwegian Emergency Medicine Student Forum (Norsk Akuttmedisinsk Studentforum, NAMS) is an ideal organization by medical students. Students from across Oslo (OAMS), Bergen (BAMS), Trondheim (TrAMS) and Tromsø (TAMS) cooperate to offer an expanded training in emergency medicine, with lectures, courses, and simulations.

Once a year we arrange a gathering and invite the local organizations. We also invite other Scandinavian emergency associations to our event, to promote unity. It is a weekend filled with skill training and exchange of experience. Each city takes turn in being the host, and 23. - 26. March 2023 it will be hosted in Bergen. The weekend will contain lectures, skills training, and a large simulation where we are going to cooperate with other emergency services.

In 2023 the theme of the weekend is «Head above water». We will focus on strengthening the students knowledge about accidents which can occur close to the coastline or in the sea. Norway has one of the highest number of workers in sea-based industries. The statistics are showing us that the number on non-fatal accidents have risen. When a crisis occur it is important that our future doctors have knowledge and experience within this field.
