CISV is all about bringing young people together from around the world to learn, grow, and make lasting connections. Their international summer camps provide an incredible opportunity for youths aged 16 or 17 to immerse themselves in a transformative experience. Hosted by CISV Hordaland, this three-week camp will welcome 25 participants from 13 different countries.

During the camp, participants will embark on a journey of cultural exchange and understanding. By interacting with peers from diverse backgrounds, they will gain invaluable first hand exposure to different perspectives, traditions, and customs. This exposure goes beyond breaking stereotypes; it fosters empathy and builds a more inclusive and tolerant global community.

At CISV camps, leadership and communication skills are nurtured. Through engaging activities, workshops, and team-building exercises, young people are encouraged to collaborate, take initiative, and effectively communicate across language barriers. These experiences empower them to become confident leaders capable of thriving in multicultural environments and addressing global challenges.

Active global citizenship is a core focus of CISV camps. Workshops on social justice, sustainable development, and human rights inspire participants to become agents of positive change in their own communities. By learning about global issues and developing critical thinking skills, they are motivated to make a real difference in the world.

One unique aspect of this camp is its emphasis on sustainability. Working together with Matsentralen, participants will tackle the issue of food waste. They will discover the implications of waste on nature in Norway, creating awareness and finding solutions for a more sustainable future.

The bonds formed during CISV camps are incredibly strong, often lasting far beyond the camp duration. Lifelong friendships are forged, connecting individuals from different corners of the globe. This global network of friends and allies strengthens the foundations of a more peaceful and interconnected world.
