Key Achievements:
· Through scholarship programs with partner institutions, we have successfully trained 22 new nurses and 25 new midwives to reinforce the Sierra Leonean workforce.
· 671 health staff performing nursing duties are presently enrolled in our Basic Clinical Nursing Care (BCNC) program, in 10 MSF-supported hospitals in 3 countries.
· Training curriculum contents and adapted learning tools have been developed for a total of 4 comprehensive continuous professional development programs, some of which are still being finalized.
· Pilot projects for the improvement of outpatient care have now started in both Sierra Leone and Guinea, and assessments are being carried out to start beginning 2022 in both Nigeria and South Sudan.
· The Fellowship in Medical Humanitarian Action started with its pilot cohort of 14 participants in April 2021, and two tutors are now actively guiding the learnings. The next cohort is due to start in March 2022.
· The pilot cohort of 8 participants for the Post-graduate Diploma in Infectious Diseases started in April 2021, and the participants for the next cohort have been selected in November 2021.
